Our story begins on October 27, 1944 in Sessano Del Molise, a small town in southern Italy.  Pietro and Irma named this beautiful child Filomena (better known to us as Velia). Velia grew up in this small town in Italy along with her brother and sister, where she met and married her husband Ernie.  She moved to America to start a new life and a new family.  They had 4 children ~ Nina, Anita, Roberto, and Riccardo.

This restaurant was made in memory of our mother. 

The concept of this restaurant started with a dinner conversation.  Although mom is no longer with us, we hope you see her beauty and feel her love, as you walk in our doors and join our family for an authentic, rustic, Italian meal.

At Mama Velia’s everything is fresh - from our homemade sauces to our handmade mozzarella cheese. Everything here is made with love and dedication.  Buon Appetito!
